POLICIES, TERMS & CONDITIONS

California Proposition 65
Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to any product(s) sold in California. Some products sold on this website contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. A Proposition 65 warning means one of two things: (1) the business has evaluated the exposure and has concluded that it exceeds the "no significant risk level" or (2) the business has chosen to provide a warning simply based on its knowledge about the presence of a listed chemical without attempting to evaluate the exposure. General Tools and Instruments has chosen to provide a warning based on its knowledge about the presence of one or more listed chemicals without attempting to evaluate the level of exposure. With products on General Tools and Instruments website, the exposure may be below the Proposition 65 level of concern, or could even be zero. However, out of an abundance of caution, General Tools and Instruments has elected to place the Proposition 65 warning notification on all its products. General Proposition 65 notice WARNING: Some product contains one or more chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling. Machines WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are: - lead from lead-based paints, - crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, - arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber. Your risk from exposure to these chemicals varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure, work in a well-ventilated area and with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles. Electrical Cords WARNING: The wire of this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.

Conflict-Free Minerals Policy
Conflict-Free Minerals Policy This document contains General Tools & Instruments statement regarding the content of Conflict Minerals in our products. This statement is based upon information collected from our supply chain, manufacturing facilities and affiliates worldwide. There has been increased awareness of violence and human rights violations in the mining of certain minerals from a location described as the “Conflict Region”, which is situated in the eastern portion of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries. The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) have requested that companies undertake reasonable due diligence with their supply chain to assure that specified metals are not being sourced from mines in the Conflict Region, which is controlled by non-government military groups, or unlawful military factions. The four identified minerals are gold, tin, tantalum, and tungsten. The derivatives are Cassiterite, columbite-tantalite, and wolframite. General Tools & Instruments understands and supports the actions of the EICC and GeSI. General Tools & Instruments does not knowingly use metals derived from the Conflict Region in our products.
