Instructions:
Before Flaring:
• Check that both the inner and outer pipe surfaces have been deburred.
• Oil the cone surface to reduce friction.
Creating a Flare:
1. Open bars and insert tubing into appropriate diameter hole.
2. Leave approximately 1/4” to 3/8” of the tubing exposed above the bars.
3. Tighten wing nuts.
4. Install the yoke over the tube.
5. Tighten down the yoke until the cone is centered over the tube.
6. Slowly turn the t-handle until the pipe is flared. DO NOT over tighten.
7. Check flare after removing from assembly.
FAQ’s
Q – How hard should I tighten the flaring tool?
A – It is better to slightly under-flare the pipe then to apply too much pressure. Over flaring the pipe can crack or damage the flare. As a rule, tighten the yoke with normal hand strength until you feel resistance. This usually will be enough for a proper flare.
