How long will it take to receive my item(s)?
All orders that are in stock at the time of purchase will be processed and shipped within 24-48 hours. Items are shipped via UPS ground from New York, NY, and delivery times range from 1-5 business days depending on your location. Is there a warranty on items I purchase from General Tools & Instruments?
Every item made by General Tools is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects at the time of purchase. Should you find your item to be defective, please contact customer service to receive an RGA number.
Can I return items bought from generaltools.com?
Goods purchased from General Tools & Instruments may be returned for a refund within 14 days of the order shipment date. Goods returned after 14 days but not exceeding 30 days from the shipment date may be returned for store credit. Please view our Return Policy for more information.
I live outside the U.S. and your site is not calculating shipping to my country. What should I do?
For certain countries, international shipping rates are determined by a matrix of factors including package size, weight and value. Therefore, in some cases we will not be able to predetermine the shipping costs for your order. We ship all international orders via USPS Global Priority Mail, and the cost for a standard (~3lb) package is usually between $20-$30 USD. Please do not submit your order if you are unwilling to pay freight costs within this general price range.
Will you accept a Purchase Order as a form of payment?
No, we do not accept purchase orders as payment. We do, however, accept all major credit cards.
Do you accept personal checks or money orders?
At this time we are only accepting credit cards for web orders.
Do you charge sales tax?
All customers with a NY billing address will be charged applicable sales tax.

Battery Material Data Sheets
Periodically, customers have requested material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for batteries supplied with our products. However, under the regulations, MSDSs are not required. Batteries contained in our products are a fully-encased, manufactured item intended as an end-use product for customers. Therefore, batteries are not classified as a hazardous chemical and are not treated as such under the United States OSHA Hazardous Communications Rule. These batteries are considered "articles" within the meaning of 29 CFR Section 1910.1200(c), as they are formed to a specific shape or design during manufacture, have an end-use dependent upon their shape or design, and do not release or otherwise result in exposure to hazardous chemicals under normal conditions of use. Therefore, an MSDS is not required.
